Greensboro, NC – The 8th Annual Precision Golf Championships featured some great golf action this
past weekend at Bryan Park GC (host of the 2010 USGA Public Links Amateur).
The event hosted by the Precision Golf School to benefit the non-profit Triad Youth Golf Foundation,
was a huge success as over 100 kids attended the event.
The Championship saw some great scores as leader of day 1 and eventual 15 – 17 winner, Colin
McKenna of Greensboro, NC, posted the low score on Saturday with a 70 on the Players course.
Entering the final round with a two shot lead, McKenna’s 76 on Sunday in the midst of windy conditions
on the ever difficult Champions Course earned him the 4 shot victory over Nick Brenner of Charlotte, NC.
However, it was not without a fight, as Brenner’s 71 was low round of the day by two shots next to
Jeffrey Jackman of Precision Golf School and Greensboro, NC who shot 73. Both boys made a sizable
charge up the leaderboard as Brenner’s 79 – 71 placed him second and Jackman (79-73-152) fourth with
Caleb Keck of Reidsville, NC (77-75—152) respectively.
Also, Rhyne Jones (Blowing Rock, NC) consistent play (75-76 – 151) earned him third alone.
As for McKenna, this was his first PGS Boys Championship win earning him an Joe Cheves Invitation, AJGA exemption and some added confidence ending the month with a big win.
