Josh Nichols

Specializing in Adults, Juniors, High-end Tournament Players & Developing Players

Josh is a Triad native, and has been playing competitive amateur golf for over 15 years. Josh grew up going to Precision Golf School for instruction. In high school Josh won two state championships, and went on to play NCAA Division 1 college golf at Appalachian State University. While there, Josh won three individual titles and upon graduating held the second lowest scoring average in ASU history. He then set out on a four year journey to reach the professional golf ranks.

Josh sought out who might help him achieve his goals, and went back to Precision and started working with Robert Linville. Although he never turned pro, Josh made great strides in his game to get to an elite amateur level. His journey culminated in the 2017 season when he won the Triad Amateur Golf Classic and the Carolinas Open at Bryan Park within days of each other. And then in the fall of 2017 finished runner-up in the U.S. Mid-Amateur at Capital City Club in Atlanta, GA. Having played eight matches in six days, just one good match from being invited to play The Masters and U.S. Open, Josh realized at the height of his playing career that what he once thought would be his profession no longer satisfied the void that he was trying to fill. From that event, Josh redirected his priorities to focus on his faith, his then girlfriend (now wife) Kayla, and what he would do next.

Ever since the U.S. Mid-Am, Josh has been pondering what he could do to give back to others by using his competitive experience and what he learned on his journey. In collaboration with Robert, Josh realized that the mental side of golf was where his passion and expertise would be. This led Josh and Robert to develop a Mental Coaching program that would help players of all ages identify and overcome the weaknesses in their mental game. Josh believes that no matter your skill level or how many mental hurdles you have to navigate, with a well-defined plan, a good work ethic, and someone to help you along your journey, anyone can be a mentally strong player. His goal and his passion is to see every player become better on the course as well as off.
