Katie Williamson is a former Division I collegiate golfer with a proven record of success at the highest levels of amateur competition.
She began playing golf at age five and started competing by age eight in U.S. Kids Golf, building a strong competitive foundation early. As a sophomore in high school, she won her district championship with a round of 69.
She began her college career at Florida Gulf Coast University on a full Division I scholarship, where she made an immediate impact, earning All-Conference honors and a spot on the All-Freshman Team. During her time there, she recorded multiple top finishes, including a runner-up finish, and posted one of the lowest rounds in program history. She also ranked among the program’s leaders in birdies in a single season and earned national academic recognition.
She later continued her career at Utah Valley University, also on a full Division I scholarship, where she remained a consistent contributor, recording multiple strong finishes, including a top-15 finish, and a career-low round of 69 in competition.
During her freshman year, Katie finished in a three-way tie for 3rd at the Dixie Amateur Championship in 2016, one of the top international amateur events, further establishing her ability to compete at a high level early in her collegiate career. She was also recognized as an Academic Scholar every year, reflecting her discipline and consistency both on and off the course.
Growing up in South Florida, Katie competed in elite junior events, including the Florida Junior Tour and South Florida PGA. She was a Gold Coast Player of the Year, a multiple-time tournament winner, and competed in the BallenIsles Junior Cup for multiple years. She also gained international experience competing in Colombia.
Earlier in her career, Katie spent several years working and teaching at Broken Sound Country Club during summers and college breaks, where she was involved in junior programs and worked with developing players. That experience helped shape her coaching style and sparked her passion for teaching.
Katie brings that same competitive experience into her instruction and connects closely with players through her understanding of the game’s challenges. She knows the pressure, frustration, and mental side that come with trying to improve, especially for juniors working to find their game. She built her success through discipline, study, and countless hours of practice, and she is passionate about helping others navigate that same process.
Her teaching focuses on building a fundamentally sound, repeatable swing while helping players understand why they do what they do. She creates an environment where players feel supported, build confidence, and learn how to truly improve and compete.
