NOVEMBER 12, 2012 – On Monday, the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the third round of the PKBGT INVITATIONAL @ Grandover Resort (East Course). Host of the annual Bridgestone Golf Collegiate tournament, the 2012 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf regional tournament, and the 2011 NCAA Division III Men’s Golf National Championship, Grandover Resort (East Course) is a challenging course for this three-day event. The event features a field of 31 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 400 members and 94 alumni in the collegiate ranks.
Lucia Polo (Greensboro, NC 2013) wins PKBGT INVITATIONAL @ Grandover Resort (East Course) and is named golden, again!
Polo (Greensboro, NC 2013) finished first at seven over par with scores of 71 + 78 + 75 = 223. Jessica Porvasnik (Hinckley, OH 2013) placed second at 12 over par with scores of 77 + 77 + 74 = 228. Shannon Brooks (Vienna, VA 2015) placed third at 12 over par with scores of 73 + 79 + 76 = 228. Dignitaries from the Greensboro Sports Commission, Greensboro Convention & Visitor Bureau, and Greensboro Sports Council were in attendance for this exciting final round
The PKBGT INVITATIONAL concluded the sixth season for the PKB Tour. The tour returns in the end of January at the 2013 Kick-Off Bulldog Classic @ University of Georgia GC.
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers low cost, nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
