Peggy kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour in Cary, NC at Lochmere Golf Club this weekend.
Cary’s Katherine Perry fires a 1 under par 70 to win by nine shots.
Cary, NC — The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour was in Cary, NC this weekend for their eight event of the season.
From the outset 2008 PKB Tour champion, Katherine Perry of Cary, NC commanded the show as she posted a first round of 73 giving her a one shot lead after day one over another Cary, NC local, Taelor Rubin.
However, On day two, Perry caught fire increasing her one shot lead to nine at days end topping off the start studded performance by finding birdies on two of the last three holes in to route victory.
The victory marked Perry’s third win in her last three events; PKB Bermuda Run, Vicki Disantis invitational, and this event at Lochmere.
After the round, el fuego, talked about her reign in the victory circle stating, ” I really enjoy playing golf with all these girls. We were all singing on the course today and talking about the funny things in life like Lori Beths’ jokes (referring to friend Lori Beth Adams).I am always happy about winning, but it is a lot of fun to enjoy it while you are doing it. I keep working on getting a little bit better everyday and let the results come on their own.I know I still have a long ways to go, like from 70 to 100 yards… yea that needs some work.”
Following Perry, was last events winner, Allison Emrey of Charlotte, NC ,who posted twin scores of 76 for a 152 total, Taelor Rubin of Cary, NC 75-82-152, Lori Beth Adams of Burlington, NC 83-75–158, and Andrea Robbins of Liberty, NC 82-78–160.
In the Futures division, the Osiecki twins, Ashley and Shelby of New Bern, NC, brought home the ultimate mothers day present finishing first and second; Ashley 80-77–157 and Shelby 85-79-164.
Following the twins was order of merit points leader, Alaina Yeatts of Durham, Nc 82-83– 165, Eden Howard of Lamar, SC 87-79–166, and Nicolette Donovan 82-86–168.
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour will be in Salisbury in two weeks for its Spring Championship.
There are already 60 girls signed up for the event and spots are filling up fast.

Round 1 Recap:
Cary, NC — After one day of play local town superstars are at the top of the leaderboard. Katherine Perry and Taelor Rubin of Cary are atop of the leaderboard after the first round of play. The two Cary girls posted 73, 74 respectively, and Allison Emrey, last events champion, is right in the mix as well with a 76.
In the Futures Division, play was suspended due to lightning and severe thunderstorms. However the clubhouse leaders are Alaina Yeatts and Nicolette Donovan posting 82.
The 1:40 and 1:50 tee times from day 1 will finish their remaining holes at 9:30 am sharp tommorrow morning.
Tee times will be available as soon as these two groups have posted their official scores. Future tee times will run from 12:10 to 12:40 with the high scores headed of first followed by the day one leaders.
