Chris Haarlow – Director Instructor

Chris Haarlow is the Class A PGA Instructor with Precision Golf School. Chris serves as the Director Instructor for Precision Golf School in addition to directing the Award Winning Precision Golf Junior Academy.  He is recognized as one of the top instructors in North Carolina, featured at #7 by Golf Digest Top Teachers in North Carolina list.

Chris was named a Top-50 Master Kids Teacher in America by US Kids Golf Inc in its inaugural class in 2008. This award is given the top professionals who have dedicated their careers to developing youth golf in their communities and are known for their overall excellence and commitment to serving youth.

In 2011 Chris was named Carolinas PGA Junior Golf Leader. The Junior Golf Leader Award is given to the PGA Professional who has proven that his commitment to junior programs and initiatives has truly made an impact on the lives of junior golfers at their facility and in their community.  In 2016, he was again recognized by the Carolinas PGA with the Player Development Award.

Chris grew up in the Pinehurst area and received some of the best golf instruction in the World as a junior golfer. He continues that tradition today with the Precision Golf School which he joined in 1999.

A three-time All-American on the Guilford College Golf Team (1989, 1990, 1991), Chris is also an accomplished golfer. He has one of the lowestscoring averages in Quaker history and was twice tournament medalist, including the 1990 District Championship. Following college, Chris played professionally for 6 years highlighted by the 1994 U.S. Open at Oakmont.

In 2000, Chris was instrumental in obtaining a USGA start-up grant for $80,000 to initiate the Triad Youth Golf Foundation. This program offers golf instruction to area kids in a structured mentoring program that goes far beyond the basics. Scores of area kids receive their fullest exposure to the fun, challenges, and traditions of golf during the extensive clinics staged by Chris and his assistants.

Throughout his tenure at Precision Golf, Chris has been leading the growth and advancement in the quantity and quality of offerings presented. Chris’ enthusiasm and passion for instructing the game is seen throughout the Junior Academy and beyond. Chris’s days are spent working with adults looking for an edge or collegiate golfers honing their skills, and his afternoons and evenings training junior players looking to make their mark on the game.

Justin Scott – Head Instructor

Justin Scott is a Class A Member of the PGA of America following his attendance and graduation from the PGA Golf Management and Business Administration programs at NC State University. While pursuing his degrees, Justin completed numerous internships; The Washington Duke, Grandover Golf Resort & Spa, Farmlinks Golf Resort, and Raleigh Country Club, that led him to realize his passion and devotion to golf instruction and education. Justin has been commended on his patience for juniors, simplicity in explaining difficult concepts, and dedication to effective communication channels. His main goal is to challenge novice players to achieve their greatest potential and inspire the advanced to reach the next level in their game.

Kevin McCallister – Associate Instructor

A western North Carolina native, Kevin brings over 35 years of tournament playing experience to Precision Golf School. Winning his first junior tournament at 11 years old and becoming a scratch golfer by age 13 Kevin excelled as a top level junior player winning multiple Jr golf events which included winning 11 out 13 spring tournaments during his senior year in high school. After high school Kevin moved on to play NCAA Division 1 golf at East Carolina University as a business management major. Following a successful collegiate career he made the jump to professional golf where Kevin moved to central Florida and competed successfully on 9 different professional golf tours around the country for the next 4 ½ years. After accumulating multiple top 5 finishes including 2 wins as a professional on multiple mini-tours, Kevin decided to leave the professional game and enter the restaurant and hospitality industry as a business owner which he pursued for the next 21 years.

During that time as a business owner, Kevin regained his amateur status with the USGA and continued his pursuit of excellence in ball striking, short game and putting while working with some of the top instructors in the country including Robert Linville. While working with Robert, Kevin returned to tournament play where he added 18 more tournament wins including 8 Club Championships at two different Clubs, multiple top level amateur and mid-amateur tournament wins as well as two course records and 5 tournament rounds of 64 or better. Keeping Robert as his swing coach & golf mentor over the next 16 years, Kevin used this time away from professional golf to research and refine his understanding of not only the motion of the golf swing, but also his playing strategy and approach to the game of golf. As a husband of 18 years, a father of 3 children, former professional golfer and business owner, Kevin brings a unique set of life experiences and skills to the Precision Instruction family.

Kevin’s goals as an instructor are to use a lifetime of experience, research and knowledge to help every student get the very most out of their own golf skills and abilities. Kevin feels that there is no perfect swing and that every single player who is willing to put forth the effort is capable of, “Finding their best golf swing and shooting the lowest scores of their life!” Kevin is excited for the opportunity to work with golfers of all ages and skill levels.

Michael Hutcheon – Head Instructor

Michael returns to Precision Golf with over 40 years of golf experience, most recently as the Director of Golf and Instruction at Jamestown Park Golf Club. Prior to directing operations and instruction at Jamestown he played professionally on numerous North American professional golf tours and was a 3 year member of the Canadian Tour competing with the likes of elite players such as Steve Stricker, Todd Hamilton, Stephen Ames, Kirk Triplett, and Mike Weir. Michael works equally well with all levels of players including beginners, juniors, adults, seniors, and, the elite player.

Michael’s goal is to direct each golfer toward a better understanding of the golf swing, making golf more fulfilling for each individual. Michael has worked with nationally recognized instructors from Robert Linville to Mike Bender and Lynn Blake. His extensive experiences both playing and teaching make him the perfect instructor to guide junior golfers looking to develop into collegiate bound golfers.  He also is certified as a Titleist Performance Institute Instructor.

Rebecca Kerry – Associate Instructor

Born and raised in Bend, Oregon she fell in love with the game of golf at 14. Rebecca then graduated from Saint Francis College (Brooklyn, NY) where she played Division 1 golf. During her time at Saint Francis College she completed two Operations Internships with the American Junior Golf Association.  She graduated with a BS in Business Management and a Sports Management minor.

After graduating she became a Teaching Professional at RedTail Golf Center in Beaverton, Oregon. In Beaverton, she taught private lessons and was a lead Instructor for the junior club.

She is currently working towards her LPGA Teaching Certification and is extremely excited to join the Precision Golf School team!

Robert Faub – Associate Instructor

Bob Faub has been working with students at Precision Golf School for over 20 years as a member of our golf camp staff and as assistant with our Junior Academy. He joined the Precision staff full time in January, 2018 as Golf Operations Manager. He is the Tournament Administrator for the Tarheel Youth Golf Association (TYGA) Triad Chapter, and former golf coach at Caldwell Academy.

In addition to his experience in the golf business, Bob brings over 30 years of expertise as an educator and musical artist. Specializing in problem solving, effective practice and maximizing performance, he is delighted to share his passion for learning with students of all ages.

Robert Linville – Director of Instruction

Robert’s passion is teaching golf. It is something he has done for over 25 years. A Class A instructor in the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) of America, Robert has gained the praise and respect of his peers as one of the finest golf instructors in the Southeast. On September 5, 2001, Robert made his first appearance on the Golf Channel Golf Academy Live. In 1993, the members of the Carolinas PGA recognized Robert as the Teacher of the Year. His teaching was again recognized in 2008 when Golf Digest selected Robert as one of the “Top 10 Instructors in North Carolina”.

A standout golfer, Robert was an All-American at Guilford College from 1976-1980. Following college, he played professional golf for several years before devoting full-time to teaching others. He and his family returned to Greensboro from Florida in 1984, and he became Co-Head Pro at Forest Oaks Country Club, site of the PGA Tour’s Greater Greensboro Chrysler Classic.

In 1989, Robert decided to focus solely on instructing the game and co-founded Precision Golf School. Starting in a strip-mall off Friendly Avenue, Robert and his partner Rodney Morrow began to grow what has become the Triad’s leader in golf instruction. Following two moves, Precision Golf School has grown to five Triad locations and a staff of eight full-time instructors, all working under the tutelage of Robert.

In addition to being an accomplished instructor, Robert’s passion for golf coaching has garnered great successes. From 1995 to 2006, Robert served as Head Coach to the Greensboro College Men’s Golf Team. Creating one of the most successful programs in the country, the GC Pride finished in the top five for 6 consecutive seasons at the NCAA Division III championship finals. In 2000, the Pride won the NCAA championship, defeating perennial powerhouse Methodist College by a single stroke. Robert’s leadership was recognized twice by being named NCAA National Coach of the Year in 1999 and 2000. In addition, he was selected to coach the US National Team in the annual US-Japan collegiate competition twice.

Ted Bonham – TPI Performance Professional

Ted Bonham is the Director of Body Performance for Precision Golf and Tennis. He is a certified Titleist Performance Institute Instructor and a certified Sport Specific Personal Trainer and a Sports Conditioning Specialist through the International Fitness Professional Association. I received my certification through Dr. Greg Rose and Dave Phillips who are regulars on The Golf Channel.

“What I bring to you as a fitness instructor, is an in depth evaluation of your strengths and weaknesses. With this, I provide a detailed fitness program targeting those areas needing help while maintaining your strengths. I believe fitness training should be a positive experience. Tim Samelak – Teaching Professional

Tim is a Certified Level 3 Teaching Professional with the United States Golf Teacher Federation since 2009. Tim also is a High School Golf Coach. He coached the Page HS Men’s Team in 2012. Currently he is the Head Golf Coach for both Men’s and Women’s Golf Team at Grimsley High School. All of his teams consistently qualify for Post Season Tournament play. Tim has had a lifelong passion for the game since the age of 5. His experience includes multiple jobs and volunteer positions sharing his passion for the game with players of all skill levels.

Tim continues to play tournament golf. Each year he competes in the USGTF NE Regional in PA. and the USGA Senior Open Local Qualifier. Both tournaments give him invaluable playing experience that he passes along to his students.
