Jackson Springs, NC – The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour hosted its 16th event of the year at Firefox Golf Club West Course. The golf course, known for hosting the girls North Carolina State High School Championships, was a challenging test for the girls with the wet conditions making for a lengthy 6,000 yards. The field consisted of over twenty players from the Carolinas and Virginia. In the college prep Bell Division, Erica Clinard of Clemmons, NC posted an 80, capturing her first Peggy Kirk Bell title by 2 shots over Caitlyn Brake of Mocksville, NC. Commenting after her round, Clinard stated, “I knew the golf course was playing pretty long, so I just tried to stay consistent and make pars. I started my PKB journey averaging in the high 90s but tried to improve each event. It is fun to finally take home a win!” Following Clinard and Brake in the Bell Division, Lily Yatawara of Salisbury, NC at 83, Jessica Kittelberger of Raleigh, NC and Rachel Walker of Marvin, NC with 86. In the high school prep Futures Division, Sarah Spicer of Bahama, NC took home medalist honors with a 77. Following Spicer in the Futures Division were Nicolette Donovan of Cary, NC and Megan Munroe of Reaeford, NC with 79, Danielle Haizlip of Statesville, NC and Ashlii Thompson of Browns Summit, NC at 83.
