Katherine Perry of Cary has been named the 2009 N.C. Junior Players of the Year by the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) and the Tarheel Youth Golf Association (TYGA). Katherine is a student of Precision Golf School Director of Instruction Robert Linville and the 2-time Order of Merit Champion on the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour.
The N.C. Junior Player of the Year award recognizes one girl and one boy who have had the most successful year in amateur and junior golf events at the local, state, regional and national levels. The Player of the Year awards were determined by a combination of each player’s tournament scoring differential and the total points earned in the TYGA NC rankings events from December 1, 2008 through November 30, 2009.
These outstanding juniors, along with the 2009 All-State Girls’ and Boys’ teams, will be honored at the N.C. Junior Golf Night Awards Banquet on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at Little River Golf and Resort in Carthage, NC.
